Seventeenth University Entry Scheme (17 UES) for
Permanent Commission in the Army July 2007-2008

The Indian Army is looking for a few good men, for the best and the brightest amongst you. For men with intellect, idealism and courage. men who can lead and inspire others.
Applications are invited from unmarried male Engineering Degree Students studying in Final year of Pre-Final Year during academic session July 2006-2007 for Grant of Permanent Commission in the Army in : Corps of Engineers, Corps of Signals and Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers.

Vacancies: 60 (Mechanical-08, Electronics-08, Electronics and Communication Engg(ECE)/Telecom-12, Electrical-02, Civil-18, Architecture-03, CSE-02, IT-04, Industrial/Producation-03)

Age Limits: Final year Degree candidates : Not below 19 yrs and not over 25 yrs i.e born between 02 July 83 and 01 July 89
Pre-Final year degree candidates - Not below 18 yrs and not over 24 yrs i.e born between 02 July 84 and 01 July 90

Method of Selection: The Selection process to be followed is indicated below: (a) All applications as per format given in the advertisement are to be forwarded to respective Command Headquarters . (b) Since candidates are required to be under graduates during the selection process and must be graduates at the time of commencement of the course, applications of the Final year candidates graduating before April 2008 and after July 2008, similarly Pre-Final Year candidates graduating before April 2009 and after July 2009 will not be considered.  (c) Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival. During their stay at SSB, candidates are put through Psychological Tests, Group Test and interviews (d) Candidates will be put through stage I of the selection procedure on the first day. Only successful candidates shall be retained for balance of the testing.

How to Apply:
Apply on plain Paper (Size 30*20 cms) as per format given . Attested copy of  S.S.L.C book to prove the date of birth and two self addressed envelope (without stamp) should contain along with the application form.  The envelope (white envelope) containing the application should be superscribed in Red Ink indicating clearly the branch of engineering applied for .For example ‘APPLICATIONS FOR 17 UES ENTRY,—————————- Send your application so as to reach respective command HQ at the following address on or before 31 Jul 2007.

(ii) HQ Western command (A Branch), Chandimandir, Pin-134107, For students studying in states of Punjab, Himachal  Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh.
(iii)HQ South Western Command (A Branch), Jaipur(Rajsthan), PIN-302012. For Students studying in the state of Rajasthan.
(iv)HQ Southern Command (A Branch), Pune(Maharashtra) PIN-411001. For students stydying in states of Maharashtra, Gujarat,    Andhra Pradesh, Karnatka, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Daman, Diu, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Pondicherry, Lakshadweep and Kerala.
