Your essential responsibilities include:

- Design solutions with a strong algorithmic component to it, in the areas of of machine learning, text mining, information retrieval, multimedia, and distributed computing, and deliver scalable solutions

- Interact with Research Scientists and other platform engineers in Yahoo! to understand core technologies and production environments in building production-grade components/platforms

- Nurture a talented and enthusiastic team of engineers to deliver well-performing technology components (esp. Sr. Research Engineers)

Desired Profile
- M.Tech. from a reputed academic institution with exposure to the areas of Machine Learning, Text/Web Mining, Information Retrieval, Distributed Computing and related areas.
- Solid programming skills/experience (C++, Java, C, P e r l in Unix/Linux environments), strong problem solving skills
- Willingness to work with engineering teams and deliver in a business environment.
- Exposure to Web-related technologies is a big plus.
- Good communication and inter-group working skills
