Job Description

Responsible for providing a high level of customer service and satisfaction on a technical and functional level in resolving customer problems related to Pivotal products. The Support Specialist is responsible for problem tracking, diagnosis, replication, troubleshooting, resolution and escalation using sound judgment and creative problem solving. Reports to the Team Lead or Global Support Manager for the assigned product area and will have frequent contact with customers, peers, and members of the Professional Services, Technical Account Management, R&D and Customer Account Management business units.
Should be willing to work flexible shifts (including night shifts)
Specialist may be required to carry a pager on weekends

Desired Candidate Profile

Primary Skills (essential)
â Thorough understanding of RDBMS concepts with exposure to Oracle and MS SQL
â Understanding of the Windows operating systems
â Network installation and administration experience
â Understanding of IIS and website administration
â Excellent time management and organizational skills
â Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
â Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills
â Functional/technical background in assigned Pivotal product area
â Ability to work efficiently and independently
â Display strong work ethic and do whatever it takes to get the job done
â Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact
Secondary Skills (desirable)
â Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Back Office application suite
â Network installation and administration experience
â Understanding of IIS and website administration
â Understanding of .NET framework
â Experience debugging one or more of the following: HTML, XML/XSL, Jscript, ASP, VBScript
â Experience programming one or more of the following: Visual Basic, .NET (VB, C#, ASP), Java, C++, T-SQL / SQL*Plus
â Exposure to Business Objects and Crystal Reports
â Understanding of mail server protocols
â Understanding of Character Sets, Encoding and Unicode concepts (with related knowledge of language and locale concepts for support of global systems)
â Ability to provide meaningful and constructive feedback to others
â Track record in providing outstanding and unparalleled customer service
