Designation Technical Architect (VC++) - Pune

Job Description Role & Responsibilities:

-Provide technical guidance and review support to project teams in the lifecycles areas of software architecture, design and coding
-Understand the technical requirement on projects
-Govern/Facilitate architectural decisions on projects & review the architecture documents
-Facilitate the project during the design process, design reviews, coding process, code reviews
-Provide technical solutions to projects and support in problem solving
-Participate in review of each phase of the project lifecycle
-Build, manage and groom team of designers, reviewers, algorithm experts, technology specialists - allocate team members to projects as per project lifecycle requirements (for design review, code reviews etc.)
-Maintain a repository of design templates and review checklists
-Share design learnings across project teams (e.g. consistency in user interface & design across projects)
-Share best practices about code reviews, coding practices, learnings and improvements
-Improve reusable component usage and identify new reusable components (thereby improve productivity)
-Coaching and mentoring - conduct training sessions and groom new architects, designers and code reviewers
-Manage domain specialists and training coordinator activities
-Provide avenues for technical discussion and conduct common meetings across projects for technical information exchange
-Knowledge Management - sharing product, domain, technical knowledge
-Create, manage and maintain KM repository
-Systematic accumulation of technical information from projects and onsite experience. Periodic review and update of information.
-Develop knowledge about the latest software development technology and the development domain
-Identify automation & tools for reducing development cycle time
-Periodically assess the quality of architecture, design and code in all projects
-Identify improvements based on reviews and provide feedback to project teams
-Define metrics to be collected. Collect and analyze metrics reports and prepare improvement action plan. Rollout and monitor the action plan.

Desired Profile 1) Requirement Study
TA: Review Study document/FRS/SRS. Provide domain, technical inputs to development team.

2) Estimation
TA: Review Estimation (TP Technical Proposal). Identify any special training needs on the project with project PM. Identify involvement of domain specialist. Plan reviews and suggest usage of appropriate tools.

3) Architecture & Design
TA: Facilitate creation of System Architecture, review architectural decisions. Facilitate creation of design and conduct reviews (self or allocate team members from pool to do independent architecture and design reviews)

4) Coding
TA: Conduct code reviews (self or allocate team members from pool to do independent code reviews). Provide support for resolving technical issues during development.

5) Testing
TA: Review defect fixes (sampling basis either self or through team member)

6) Project Closure
TA: Collect and collate product, domain, and technical information on projects. Ensure learnings are documented reviewed and uploaded to KM repository. Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and common meetings to discuss learnings.
