This advertisement is in continuation of advertisement for OCES/DGFS-2007 published in December 2006 for the selection of Trainee Scientific Officers in ‘BARC Training School and its affiliates’ (training centres at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd-NPCIL, ‘Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology-RRCAT’, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research-IGCAR and Nuclear Fuel Complex-NFC & Heavy Water Board-HWB).

An additional opportunity is now being offered, for those who have not appeared for the GATE exam, through an all-India written examination to shortlist candidates in seven engineering disciplines, namely, Chemical, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Metallurgical, for selection to ‘BARC Training School and its affiliates’ through interview. Those who applied with GATE score in December’06 can apply again for the written test.

Desired Profile: The all India written examination will be held on June 10,2007. The written examination will be conducted in following eighteen cities : Bangalore (Kamataka), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa), Chandigarh (Punjab), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), New Delhi (Delhi), Gandhinagar (Gujrat), Guwahati (Assam) Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan) Kolkata (West Bengal), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) Mumbai (Maharashtra), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Roorkee (Uttarkhand) Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). The written test would be objective type and purely discipline specific. All the candidates with or without GATE score are eligible to apply for written examination.
